How does LocalTraders work?

LocalTraders is an online enquiry service which aims to connect customers in need of home improvement help and advice with tradesmen that are local to them. The service is quick and easy to use; all you have to do is complete the enquiry form, which is visible throughout the LocalTraders website.

Simply select your desired trade and fill in your location and contact details. In addition to this please provide a brief description of the work you would like completing at your residential or commercial property, detailing timescales, budget and size of the work area. You can also choose how you’d like to be contacted, via text or call. Once you have filled out all your details press the ‘Get Your Free Quotes’ button and your request will be submitted to a number of tradespeople in your locality, who will contact you at the earliest convenience to discuss the work further and offer you a free quotation.

You can then pick from the quotes provided which service and price suits you. When you have made a decision you can contact the tradesmen you wish to hire directly in your own time to get those improvements to your home or business underway.

How long will my enquiry take to reach a local tradesperson?

Once you have filled out and submitted the enquiry form as detailed above, your request will make its way to our Customer Care Team, located at LocalTraders HQ. Throughout the day our staff manually approve all enquiries, these requests are then forwarded to relevant local tradespeople. In most cases, an enquiry will be approved within 5 minutes of submission.

How many tradespeople will my enquiry go out to?

Your enquiry will be submitted to up to six tradespeople in your local area.

How much will the service cost me?

Our dedicated enquiry service is completely FREE to use! Meaning you can access the best tradespeople in your local area free-of-charge.

I want to submit an enquiry but the trade isn’t listed – what can I do?

f the trade you need is not listed, you can choose the nearest possible trade and describe exactly what you need when you come to complete the brief description on the enquiry form. Each enquiry is manually approved by our Customer Care Team, who read through each enquiry carefully to direct your request to the relevant tradesperson.

Alternatively, you can call our Customer Care Team on 0800 0141 848 and discuss exactly what you need in person. Our Customer Care staff will take you through the enquiry submission process step-by-step so you can be safe in the knowledge that you have passed on all the information you feel is necessary to successfully direct your enquiry to the right trade professional.

How are your tradespeople vetted?

When we sign up any tradesperson, we ask for all documentation to support their application including proof of address and proof of membership to any trade bodies which they claim to be a part of. We also encourage all of our customers to ask for all these credentials before hiring any tradesperson.

I haven’t heard anything after submitting an enquiry – what are my options?

All tradesmen on board with LocalTraders aim to get back to their customers at the earliest possible convenience; times will vary in terms of how fast a tradesperson calls or texts you with a quote. However, if it has been 24 hours and you still have not heard from any tradespeople, please call our Customer Care Team on 0800 0141 848 to discuss your concerns.

I’ve just submitted an enquiry – what happens next?

Once you have submitted the enquiry form on our website, this will be passed onto our Customer Care Team, who will read through your request carefully and forward it to up to six relevant tradespeople in your local area. This will then be sent to our tradesmen by text message, who will get in touch with you at the earliest convenience. The tradespeople that receive your enquiry will contact you either via SMS or phone; you can stipulate how you’d like to be contacted when filling out the initial enquiry form.

The tradespeople will then discuss your requirements further to give you an accurate quote free-of-charge. You can then choose which quote and service is right for you and contact your desired tradesperson in your own time to hire their services.

Where do you find your tradespeople?

We have a dedicated Sales department, who work to connect you with the country’s best and most reliable tradespeople. Our Sales Advisors invite tradespeople onboard via telephone and take them through a detailed application process so that they can start to receive your enquiries and, if you choose to hire the tradesperson, deliver a high level of workmanship. Tradespeople can also sign up online via the LocalTraders’ homepage.

What parts of the UK does your service cover?

LocalTraders covers all parts of the United Kingdom; however, our service guarantees that you get quotes from tradesmen that are local to you.

Do you sell parts?

Unfortunately, the LocalTraders service cannot be used to source trade parts or materials.
