Winter Is Well and Truly Here

With the dark night drawing in and the clocks about to go back many Britons have already had boilers and central heating systems on full power. All heating systems need to be in tip top condition for the winter months so now is the time to get your boiler and heating systems checked out, this includes Gas fires, to prevent and reduce the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Carbon monoxide posses such a huge risk, due to its lack of smell, that regular servicing of your appliances is highly recommended and even then an alarm or device that detects carbon monoxide is highly advised. With energy costs soaring now is a good time to get your boiler serviced bu an engineer so that not only do you have piece of mind that it is safe but also that its running efficiently to keep those winter fuel bills down.

If you are currently considering renewing your heating system it is widely noted in the UK that condensing boilers are the most cost efficient on the domestic market, weighing up the costs of an inefficient boiler against a newer more efficient model could in the long run prove to be a sound investment.

If you are having any work done on your boiler or heating system, you must now use a member of the Gas Safe register. This has replaced Corgi as the standard body in the UK, and is now a legal requirement when anyone is servicing a boiler in the UK. When you’re thinking of having this work carried out, make sure you get plenty of quotations from local heating engineers/plumbers so that you can compare prices and decide which is the right move for you when getting your central heating serviced or repaired.
