Carpet Company Bucking the Trend

With all the doom and gloom in the press over the last 12 months it makes a refreshing and change to hear of a company posting positive sales and growth figures. Rotherham based United Carpets have recently announced sales figures with like for like sales over the 26 weeks leading up to the end of September showing a 2.5% growth.  This shows that during tough times clever marketing and advertising and the right incentives can lead to positive sales trends.    Read more…

Conservation Changes

A local council in the north east of England, Hartlepool has changed its rules regarding upvc windows in properties with a historical interest or of special interest in its conservation areas. It has now decided that as long as it does not alter the size and design of the original windows they can be replaced with the modern upvc. Read more…

The Benefits of Recycling Electronic Waste

The fastest growing waste stream in the UK is Electrical waste with it generating an estimate of 1.8 million tonnes per year. Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations are targeting to reduce the large amount of waste that is destined for landfill sites therefore improving the rate of recycling and recovery.

There are many regulations that have been bought into effect that mean if you fail to follow you could face prosecution these cover importing, distributing, generating and collecting of electronic equipment and waste, if you are unsure you should contact your local council for details.
