Are You Prepared for DIY Plumbing Disasters?

How many DIY enthusiasts are prepared to do the smallest plumbing jobs at home without realising the damage they can cause? When it comes to plumbing it’s simple, call in the professionals or simply get proper training to deal with minor jobs. Plumbing disasters start off with people trying to do a simple job themselves that can swiftly turn into their biggest nightmare.

A lady had been nagging her husband to get a plumber to clean out the water pipes; the water pressure was a bit low. Thinking it a good plan to save money, the husband waited until his wife had gone out one day and then took out all of the water pipes from the kitchen and bathroom laid them out in the garden and cleaned them out with a piece of fencing wire.

The man had only left the front tap connected, and found he could not fit all the piping back together again so in a panic, he started to call all the local plumbers in the area. His wife returned from her day out, unhappy that she couldn’t use the kitchen to cook tea or use the bathroom, and the worst of it; they couldn’t get a plumber out until after the weekend. By now, his wife was fuming and then made him take her out for slap up meals for the weekend in return for making it that they had to use buckets of water instead of running water.

The moral of the story? Are you really fully prepared to undertake the work you’re thinking about doing? Many of us have tried and failed in our endeavours to fix a leaky tap or replace an aging pipe, so why run the risk of causing complications with your pipework and extra expense when the professional plumbers in your area can quickly and, more importantly, easily solve your plumbing problems.  So get an expert to quote you for the plumbing job you require so you can sit back relax rather than getting grief off your partner!
